On a recent post, I briefly talked about Terry McBride (manager for the Barenaked Ladies).
Today’s post is all about him and more importantly his vision for the future of the music industry. He’s the CEO of Nettwerk Music Group, a music company which comprises several music businesses. Started in 1984, Nettwerk has come a long way and is embracing the future. He sees the artist as a brand, embraces the internet, and wants to monetize the way music fans are behaving currently (aka p2p/torrents/file sharing). He’s the guy who paid the legal fees for a family who got sued by the RIAA for pirated songs
I have a huge amount of respect for the guy and hopefully you will too after viewing this video from ArtistsHouseMusic.org. It’s about 30 minutes long, but worth every second.
