In the last few months, I’ve found myself gravitating towards artists I think I’m going to listen to in 10-15 years. Artists I can hold on to, artists that mean something, artists that know how to connect. There will always be music for the moment (grunge, garage rock revival, etc), but it’s so rare you find something worth holding on to, worth going back to (not just for nostalgia’s sake), something timeless.
Think about it as music fan. If you’re 24, you probably don’t listen to a lot of the same bands you listened to when you were 15, right? There’s maybe a couple you hold on to, because they mean something more to you.
How are you going to mean something to someone else? Make every song count.
