Daryl Hall: Old School Meets New School
You remember Hall & Oates right?
Well, I was randomly checking out Chromeo’s myspace page this morning, and saw a video of them playing with Daryl Hall. I was like what the?? I then dived in a little more and realized Hall has been doing a monthly concert/jam web show for a little while.
Here’s this 80′s star jamming and hanging out with a bunch of newer artists, playing covers, the guest’s songs, and Hall and Oates tunes. There’s conversation, discussion, and music. Hall gets to introduce his music to listeners who may have no idea who he is and Hall & Oates fans get to hear some fresh content while discovering some new artists. It’s cool to see artists from the old world embrace the new world.
Appropriately titled, Live from Daryl’s House, this show is very rootsy, stripped down, and actually pretty cool to watch. He’s got a diverse line up of guests too. Besides Chromeo, KT Tunstall, Matt Nathason, Gym Class Heroes, and Finger 11 all take part.
