		<description>this is dead on.  the chances that an unknown band will be able to get an A-list manager are slim to none, so you need some guy who will fight through the trenches with you.  they will have to be able to deal with little or no (most likely no) money for a while.  more importantly, it&#039;s the fact that they&#039;re a hardcore fan that will get them through the hard times with a smile knowing that their day will come if they push through.  also, i read an interesting article of the same nature &lt;a href=&quot;http://davidchaitt.com/2009/04/24/my-band-needs-a-manager-so/&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;here&lt;/a&gt;.</description>

		<description>very, very true.  Personally, I manage our own band, but it&#039;s getting to be a bit much for me (pleasantly).  I&#039;ve turned some managers down.  Others I thought I wanted as our manager, I&#039;m now glad they didn&#039;t take the job.  I now have a shortlist of super fans with tons of motivation that I consider fresh faces in the industry.  A &quot;no one&quot; in the industry is also some one new.  It&#039;s a really great way to look at the manager role.
