It Might Get Loud and Uniqueness

Another post inspired by the movie, It Might Get Loud.

Each of these guys came to the table with different flavour. Each built on something that spoke to them and made it their own. Making a mark that’s uniquely them is part of why they stand out and the foundation of their success.

Edge explained how he stumbled on what would become the defining factor of U2′s sound. He realized he could take the echo from a delay pedal and do things that hadn’t been done before. That exploration helped take U2 from being just another rock group to one of the biggest bands in the world.

You can’t just get your sound overnight. It’s going to take a lot of playing, exploring, and time to get it. Have your influences, but don’t just imitate. It all depends on what you want, but I’m sure making your own mark is something most artists want.
