If you think you’re going there, or plan on touring any where this spring you should start planning today… if you haven’t already. Promoters and clubs need adequate time to plan their 2010 schedules. 2-3 months in advance is typical. So calling early and calling often (not too often!) is important. This will take time, patience, and determination, so get planning and git’r’dun.
- Where are you going? A big industry center? Or a place where you’ll actually make some cash?
- Are there bands that you can get together with to offset the costs and perhaps get some buzz going?
- How long are you going for?
- What promotions will you be doing from home to guarantee a turn out?
There are many questions you should be asking yourself, but playing in new markets to new people is always a good idea… with some planning.[vimeo 797750]
