The New Arcade Fire Video – We Used To Wait – Is a Video Game

Ugh..is there anything left to be said about the collective jizzfest the interwebz had over the new Arcade Fire “video”??
It’s not a video. Its a video game with their new single playing in the background. A mainly passive video game. But a video game nonetheless.
On the website they recommend you shut down all programs and close all tabs. Bitch please, that is a video game if I ever heard of one. Plus, it’s a console based game, only to be played on Google Chrome. Wooo?
If the Arcade Fire team up with Google does that make Google less evil? Or does that make Arcade Fire more evil? A perfect product tie-in either way.
Hipsters (the general audience of AF) who were holding onto the tank like qualities of Firefox now have a final reason to join the Chromers. Corporate win and a Steve Jobs win because even iPad-ers will be able to view the interactive insanity thanks to the use of HTML 5. The much touted future-of-the-net code.
I recommend you check it out and judge for yourself, but remember to shut down tabs, programs, then load the page, go make popcorn, come back and enjoy.

Thought it was very smart indeed.
Yeah upon second review, it blew my mind Evan.
Yeah, that was sweet. I grew up in the 1980′s suburbs of my town, and man the video it made was perfect. It was a cul-des-sac so the spinning screen was awesome.
Really loved this video, especially the interactive postcard part!
Arcade Fire has a bunch of cool videos…their “Take Away Show” in an elevator is particularly awesome: http://www.ourstage.com/blog/2010/8/12/viewer-discretion-advised-la-blogotheque-the-take-away-shows
