The Relationship Between Creator and The Music Created
Why is it that every time I hear a song that really gets me, I have to go find out everything about the artist, the person or people who created it?
I say that it’s all about the music, but there’s been plenty of times where I’ve liked an artist more or less depending on what I learn about him/her/them as people? How do I relate to them or what character traits lie behind the type of music created? What is going on in their life that makes them create the music they do? I want to know why I’m so connected to this music.
This may seem too much, but if the music connects, people want to know who’s behind the music. It has a strong impact when it comes to developing true fans. The challenge is creating music that has impact with people, not everybody, but enough to build out a real living (or more) out of.
