Kickstarted is “the largest funding platform for creative projects in the world.”
Fan Funded projects were hot a few years ago with Slice the Pie, Kickstarter, Sellaband and other such organizations. But when Public Enemy couldn’t hit targeted budgets I stopped listening. Sad face.
But now it appears that these fan funded projects are once again picking up steam and picking up cash. That’s where Marissa Nadler comes in. I caught her video on her Kickstarter page and it worked for me in a whole new way. Why? Because the video felt like it captured the essense of her personality, her, music, and her project. I understand what she wants to do and have an idea of what it will look like in the end.
Your video and your fan funded project has to communicate those emotions, feelings, goals to make a connection and fund your project. Your imagination is your limit. I can see more and more artist using fan funded resources.
