Wilco do a lot of things right. Music, music festivals, and now Coffee. The band has joined forces with coffee company Intelligentsia to create a signature Wilco Selects brand of coffee. This isn’t the first time Wilco has worked with Intelligentsia. The company was the sole provide of coffee at Wilco’s Solid Sound Festival and they’ve also got a mug made in Wilco honor.
The “Wilco Selects” coffee brand was personally tasted by the band’s John Stirratt and Patrick Sansone (also of the Autumn Defense) at Intelligentsia’s Cupping Lab earlier this fall. The unanimous selection is the Single Origin, Organic Ethiopia Sidama Homecho Waeno. This coffee comes from the Sidama region of Ethiopia and is grown by the Homecho Waeno co-op. (more @Spinner)
This type of band and brand bed-in is a perfect fit for both groups. Wilco know that their audience is of a discerning taste and a single origin Ethiopian Sidamo couldn’t be more up their alley. Intelliegensia, on the other hand, stands only to add to their growing reputation as the new benchmark for great coffee.
