It’s no secret that I am a huge Bonobo fan. I’m one of those hardcores that spreads the word to all of my friends. This past summer I got to see him live at the Sasktel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival, and it was the best show I’ve seen in years.
One of the reasons I love Bonobo so much is that although he creates electronic music, it all has a very organic feel. The instruments are alive on his record, just like when Bonobo plays live (full band!).
So it was with great excitement that Hoover showed me a video of Bonobo creating his song Kiara. The lessons go into pretty great detail with Bonobo talking about specific effects and filters he took to produce the song.
It’s eye opening to see a guy start off with just an idea for a drum beat and through his vision create such an ass shaking song. Watch the full lesson below.
