Right after I finished writing this article about the death of indie, the flat world, the promise that a great song can get you to the top, and indie being an irrelevant term, I see this: Who Is Arcade Fire?
Lol. More here.
While I disagree with WikedKity, I can understand that because Arcade Fire had zero top 10 dance floor hits, they haven’t penetrated the mainstream music consciousness of America. Gaga on the other hand has.
But right now is really the moment for the Arcade fire to truly shine. Lamestream people that were unaware of Arcade Fire, now, at the very least, have registered that name on their music radar. This means if the next single has even a fraction of mainstream palatability then Arcade Fire will be able to cross over and truly transcend the indie label. Gaga style.
Someone needs to remix “Sprawl II” into a dance jam.
