We flew into Austin last night at around 10:30 greeted by warm weather. It feels good not to have to wear a jacket outside.

Our new friend Amanda, who’s renting us a room at her pad 5 minutes away from the convention center, picked us up from the airport. Judging by her incredible friendly nature and love for her hometown I realized we were in for a good time in Austin.  Drinks on 6th street, food from trailers, and tales of Austin filled the night as we imagined what will unfold during the next 10 days.

Currently we’re on the third floor of the Austin Convention center chilling as we wait for the first panel we’re attending: “How not to be a Douchebag at SXSW 2011”.  We just heard that Yeasayer is playing a party on Monday night which involves free drinks. Free drinks and Yeasayer?!? YES PLEASE!

I just moved into the blogger lounge and MJ is playing in the background. Good times.
