We’ve never been to SXSW and in case you haven’t, it’s a gong show.
Everyone is trying to get you to scan their QR code, there are panels galore, secret shows, an insane 6th street/downtown core by night, and line-ups for absolutely everything.
You’d think making genuine connections with people would be hard in all of this noise. Unless you take advantage of the line-ups. The person in front of you and the person behind are most likely to engage in conversation as what else can you do while waiting in line.
I’ve already met a few cool people just standing around in a line. It takes no real effort but to ask how their SXSW experience is. Conversation will flow from there and chances are, they’ll engage you first.
It’s easy and you never who’ll you meet.
We still don’t know what we’re doing tonight, so if you’re at SXSW and know of any cool parties to check out, hit us up at @newrockstarbook
