We were dead tired last evening so we decided to opt for some films instead of partying, which we’ll be doing tonight at the Ning after party at the Mohawk. We didn’t really know anything about the films, but we decided to stay and were glad we did.
Press Pause Play is essentially the New Rockstar Philosophy in film format. The film takes a look at the positive and negative sides of art as the web democratizes it. The film talks with musicians, filmmakers, entrepreneurs, and authors which makes it definitely well worth the watch.
One notable point which stood out for me was from an artist whom I can’t recall (sorry man), but his message was poignant. Technology changes happen for pragmatic reasons (or accidentally) and the art happens after. The electric guitar came out because the music at the time needed the guitar to sound louder. Jimi Hendrix saw the electric guitar and took it into the cosmos after! It’s not about the technology. It’s what you do with it.
Art is still an outpouring of the human soul.
Check out the film if you get a chance and hit up the producers/directors @presspauseplay
