Back in February I took on the RPM Challenge but decided to add another twist. I would write and record my entire album on a new iPhone app I’d heard great things about called NanoStudio.
NanoStudio combines sampling, synthesis, sequencing and mastering in a single application.
Record your ideas in real time, mix synth layers with samples, compose and arrange your tune using the powerful sequencer and bring the mix alive with real time effects such as reverb, waveshaping and delay. You can use your own samples or record them using the microphone. NanoStudio’s low latency audio engine is custom engineered for iPhone, capable of delivering an amazing 48 voice polyphony in CD quality stereo. –BlipInteractive
As iPhone apps go, the NanoStudio is more expensive ($15) than most apps, but well worth every penny.
The app is easy to use, versatile, and having downloaded some other synth and sequencer apps I’ve really started to appreciate how much punch the NanoStudio packs.
In addition to all of the sounds, you can master and upload your music directly to the web from your iPhone via the Soundcloud uploader.
All together, the NanoStudio is a recommended buy for anyone looking to dip their toe into the world of electronic music, for seasoned music veterans wanting something new, or those looking to pass some time in more productive ways other than angry birds.
Definitely check out NanoStudio. Find it here.
