You’ve heard of Soundcloud right?
More and more indie music blogs are sourcing tunes via Soundcloud. It’s so much more easier than sending an mp3 or even pointing to a website (facebook page, youtube channel, etc..). I’ve seen the send-your -tune via soundcloud widget on more than few music blogs as of late.
Elements of Soundcloud
1. So so easy to get started, you don’t even need to set-up an account to upload a track.
2. It’s all about the tracks and not so much about the look of the band or anything else.
3. Not only is it easy for the artist, it’s incredibly convenient for the blogger.
I wouldn’t promote the SoundCloud page as my main non-official website page, but it’s definitely key for reaching out to bloggers, getting feedback from other creators, and potentially collaborating with other creators.

@Madalyn Thanks for the love
@bongo.. yeah it definitely was made my musicians/techies.
@ Chris.. let me know how your testing goes.
Thanks for this I’m going to start testing out sound cloud for mp3 delivery.
Thank you,

You are so right. I might add that SoundCloud’s advantage over other similar sites is that they deal with playtime and not megabytes. That means that i, as a musician, can offer hi-quality downloads (.wav) to our fans/connections. Also their streaming is good quality.
– A simple layout an interface is appreciated.
I can feel that it is musicians who made this site…
Great article. Thanks for sharing this value info for indie artists. I’m digging your blog.
