I loved Blink 182 when I was in high-school and early university.
They just had this ability to relate to the immature mind of a teenage male fused with their overabundance of catchy tunes. I had every single album and played them straight for months on end. I had never seen them live so I had to go see them when they rolled into town on Friday.
I always felt their immaturity and stupid jokes were part of who they are and I still do, however, after seeing the show I knew they were playing it up to stick to their image. These guy are mid 30’s now and still saying the stupidest stuff on stage to get a rise out of the audience. You see live performances from their other bands and the jokes aren’t there or the image is pure seriousness (e.g Angels and Airwaves).
That being said, if they weren’t saying the stupid shit on stage, it wouldn’t be Blink 182 and I would feel a bit let down.
