We have a lot of readers who are making hip-hop music. They already know and understand the power of collaborations. Two artists get together and produce a track. They go on to spread that track throughout their fanbases, getting new music to their fans and exposing their collaborating artists.
It’s been done since the beginning in hip-hop. But in guitar based music it doesn’t happen that much. The one man in rock who seems to always be down with collaborations is Jack White. Today’s news is no different.
Jack White and Insane Clown Posse, along with JEFF The Brotherhood have come together to produce a track that is currently causing ICP to trend on Twitter. That’s big news. How’s the song you ask? I’ll let you be the judge of that.
A press release states that White linked up with Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent J to record the single “Leck Mich Im Arsch” (allegedly translates as “Lick me in the arse”), which will go on sale as a 7″ and digitally on September 13 via White’s Third Man Records. “Leck Mich Im Arsch” uses a melody by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart dating back to 1782.
White produced the single, while rockers JEFF the Brotherhood provided musical backing. The B-side will be “Mountain Girl” (which concerns itself with “tall tales about a shotgun wedding, meth problems and moonshine”). via Pitchfork
