Coldplay are about to get there asses spanked. I predict that the new album, Mylo Xyloto, will be another commercial success, but critics will tear it apart. That will hurt the sales, so to make sure it’s a huge smash Colplay have teamed up with Clear Channel (aka the Devil).
Coldplay fans can get some early previews…in the Clear Channel’s new Artist Integration Program.
….”We are thrilled Clear Channel can offer the assets, reach and creativity that will connect musicians like Coldplay more closely to their fans in an emotional, deeper experience,” Thompson continues. “This creative program will definitely impact the health of the music industry.”
The Artist Integration Program aims to increase audience awareness of new music projects from both established and developing artists through on-air and online promotional campaigns using Clear Channel’s 850 radio stations in 150 cities, and digital platforms including iHeartRadio.
Clear Channel says that participation in the program will not affect airplay. (Via Billboard)
Yeah right it won’t affect airplay. In any case this is clearly another major label/corporate radio circle jerk. It’s too bad Coldplay have to resort to this sort of thing, but really, it’s par for the course. I can’t wait to have this album beaten into my head every time I turn on the radio… oh wait, I never turn on the radio! Carry on.
