Wayyyy back in January of this year I wrote a very flammable post about how when Steve Jobs dies, and Apple starts its inevitable downturn, musicians, more specifically those musicians that use iTunes as a stable income source will be hurt. The article was arguing a valid point, but some people didn’t like talking about the future and about a man’s death. I stand by my words, it’s too bad some were offended.
So now a remix of sorts.
In the future, a world without Jobs, does iTunes still hold the same power as it once did?
I say ‘No.’ I say Apple and iTunes WILL lose their way eventually. Not for a while mind you (2-3yrs). I bet Steve had iPhones/iPads 1 through 12 planned before the first one came out. But in any case, the world has lost a huge visionary that did more to help musicians than most people will acknowledge. He tamed the wild west of MP3s! That was a huge accomplishment. So bad news for musicians, but bad news for the whole world.
Cheers to Steve Jobs, an inspiration of a man, a true visionary, and yet like all, still just a man.
One people one love!
