The boy wonder himself is about to get to another Internet first; 2 billion YouTube views.
Remember – 2 billion views isn’t 2 billion people. Bieber grabbed many of these views via a select group of tween girls. Girls with never ending acess to YouTube at all hours of the day. I’m fairly certian that we can probably cut this number by 80% and we’d have a more reasonable view of how many people have viewed his videos. But nevertheless this is still a milestone.
Once again it just goes to reinforce the fact that YouTube is how you make fans these days. Make awesome videos and then use Twitter+Facebook to make deeper connections. It’s not rocker surgery, it’s how it’s done these days:

Teen heartthrob, Bieber has dominated social media since he arrived on the music scene in 2009. To date he has 37,080,001 facebook fans, 13,895,020 twitter followers known as ‘Beliebers’ and 1,049,519 Official YouTube Subscribers according to Famecount.com the social media statistics service. In an average month his YouTube site gets a massive 93,614,637 views.
The Bieber phenomenon started in 2007 when his mum uploaded videos of the 12 year old singing, it quickly went viral and before you could say ‘Baby Baby’ the young star was discover by US manager Scooter Braun and signed by Usher and Island Records.
