So we make it into O’hare International Airport in Chicago last night and text Andy from Popstache.com. We haven’t met the guy yet, but we’re staying at his place for the night. We hope he’s cool.
Turns out the guy is a stellar mother brother and lives in a cool area of town. We head to the Boiler Room, a fantastic place where you can get a beer, shot, and a pizza slice (a huge slice) for $7.50! One of his writers, Taylor, joins us and we enjoy an evening of Pabst (a hipster favorite), shots, and pizza. Since the Boiler Room is cash only, if you take out money at the ATM and keep your receipt, they give you a free shot of Jamiesons.
Nice!
I’m writing this at around 8:00 am on Sunday half-asleep, half-hungover. When everyone wakes up, we’re headed to the best breakfast place in town (according to Andy). We also video interviewed the two guys about how bands should approach them to get covered in the first place. Look for that shortly.
Next stop: Amsterdam!
I’ll leave you with two of Chi-town’s favorites…
