So we made it to Amsterdam!
It was a foggy and busy Monday morning when we arrived, half-asleep trying to figure out the metro system to get to our new couchsurfing host, JDid’s, place.
Jdid has hosted more than a few people, played in a few bands, makes electronic music, loves Spotify, and has his own tour support company Maxi Sound. He was more than gracious helping us get settled into Amsterdam.
Since we were jet-lagged, half-hungover, and didn’t sleep much we were almost like zombies roaming the streets. Regardless, we had a great time, checked out a lot of places, Occupy Amsterdam (photo below), more than a fair share of coffeeshops, and met some cool people. Unfortunately, we accidentally slept pretty much all day today. We were staying in Jdid’s basement and had no clue what time it was, so we essentially slept for 20 hours. Ridiculous.
Regardless, we are going to make the most of the night as we finish prepping some material for our talks in Italy. We have all day tomorrow before we leave for Milan, so we’ll take in Amsterdam one more time before we’re off.
