Every other day one of my musician friends asks me how they can find appropriate blogs for their music. I tell them that finding music blogs isn’t that difficult, this is how I do it:
- Go to a music blog aggregator like Hypem.com or Elbo.ws
- In the search field of the main page, enter a band that you sound like, or that you’ve covered, or relates to you somehow.
- Click on the resulting blogs.
- Find their contact info and start making a list of all of the blogs that you dig that could dig you. – Remember to keep track.
Also, spamming Pitchfork writers might be less effective than going after a smaller up and coming blog. How can you tell if a music blog is on the rise? Ask yourself these questions: Is the content current, relevant, and consistent? If you’ve answered yes to all 3 then that’s a pretty good sign.
If you have any other ideas for finding music blogs let us know.

Confirmed elbo.ws not working. I’d say if you want to find new songs of 2016 you’d have to try using the other sources
thanks for posting but elbo.ws not working anymore
