I was catching up on new music when I stumbled upon the new Bat For Lashes video. It’s a teaser for her new single.
Often we advise artists that the easiest way to create YouTube content is to just put up a still image of your album cover, slap the audio track behind it and boom you’ve got instant quality content. That’s because people use YouTube as a streaming audio site… meaning people don’t always watch the videos.
But this new Bat For Lashes video is just a new twist on the same idea.
Instead of a still image it’s moving…but barley. The point is still clear. It’s Bat For Lashes. It’s cool. She’s cool. Which leads me to my point that there are no rules for content. As Plastic Inevitables showed us, do what you do (jamming, creating music) but just frame it/organize it and share it with the people who care about you most in an interesting way and ANYTHING becomes possible content.
ANYTHING. Recipes, clothes, music mixes, any-mutha-phuckin-thing. Ya dig? Now go out there and share it.
